Allen and Judy - a hearty welcome aboard to you both.

Hopefully you will find some time to contribute to the Cruising Wiki as well - the Abacos section needs some building.

Enjoy your stay here amongst this friendly crew and keep us all updated on how you're getting on in the beautiful Abacos.

I love your Blog!

Cartooncorpse, Alan and Judy point out they are experienced sailors. It appears from your posts that you are probably not. They will have chosen their boat based on their experiences and expectations. If you are qualified to challenge their choice, please be helpful and state your case.

Many people are unsafe in very large, very well found craft...others sail safely around the world in 12 footers. Just as I wish Alan and Judy safe voyaging, I wish you luck and safe planning in attaining your voyaging dreams, and I will not disrespect your choices.

Cruiser Log is concerned with encouraging all sailors and offering advice where we can, in an attempt to help our members to realise their sailing ambitions....whether by power or sail.

Best wishes

David.

The Camano is a lovely boat, nothing horrible at all about her.

Not that there aren't some horrible boats around, and even those aren't so good at killing their crew. Friend of ours, certainly a more experienced sailor than 95% of those around, has what I would say was a horrible boat, though primarily because it is uncomfortable, not unsafe. A couple years ago he sailed her from St. Martin to Spain, couldn't find a decent anchorage so turned around and sailed back again.

Sorry, cartooncorpse, by now you might have gotten the message from this board, we are an equal opportunity forum. Sail, power, oars, hot air, if that's what floats your boat, enjoy. Opinionated posters are welcome, but please, nothing hurtful. "you'll probably be killed" was hurtful and uncalled for. It was not funny, or even mildly amusing.

i was just trying to be funny. im on vacation. i realize sometimes 'funny' is lost in translation. believe me, i meant no harm. perhaps i could send them a sail? (i grew up around an area where sailboats and...scows, stinkpots? i can't really remember now, were joviably disputed throughout my entire life.)
