Default ...and another new member....where do we all come from?

Hi I'm Seasick Steve (no, not that one).

I've been sailing dinghies since 1975ish and yachts since '97 or so, chiefly in the Solent and elsewhere on the south coast; also the Clyde, a not very successful week in the W. Med and a tremendous fortnight off Norway. I've packed in work early (having paid off the mortgage) and am now working out whether I have enough money to buy a yacht and sail a lot more.

I'm a Coastal Skipper (which'll probably do me for what I want to do) and, as my name implies, suffer from seasickness. But I just love being n a boat!

Anyone have a boat they want me to help sail? Or skipper? Or give me?!

Hi Seasick Steve, and welcome.

I know a bloke here who would gladly give you his boat.

It was left to him in his fathers will, a 48ft trimaran.

The reason he will give it away is... the new girlfriends kids (of his father) contested the will, and during a lengthy court process (years) the boat sank at it's mooring. They immediately dropped their case and he, at sixteen years of age, was left with a bill from the Marina for entensive berthing, refloating, towing out to sea and resinking... Maybe you don't want this boat!!!

Anyway, be carefull what you ask for, because you may just get it.

I look forward to following you progress.
Favourable winds to you.

Good advice; free boats and volunteers are generally worth what they cost.

Very true.

Don't want a multihull anyway, and certainly nothing that big!
