heya everyone,
for me this is a first step. Having returned from an 11000 mile motorcycle trip around the USA I find myself redundant so
opportunity strikes!
I could either;
a) find another job
take off on my bike
c) tick another box on my bucket list - ie sail around the world.
I'm a knowledge is power kinda of guy so here I am. Aged 43, English, my sailing experience is limted to, years ago, competitive dinghy sailing (fireballs, lasers), competitive yacht sailing (out of Brighton), and 2 weeks in the Bodrum - all well over 10 years ago.
So - in my head, a catamaran, some training (no idea what yet), bimble around the European seas getting my sea-feet and then take off. Ideally with one, max two others.
Advice on what training I would need? Am I way off base? Type of boat to buy? I'm naive
so..what do I need to do/achieve to become less naive?
ps: only found this forum today so will be working my way through threads in the coming days.
