I am new here and wanted to say hi to all of you. This is my first post. My plan, which is about two years away, is to buy a five-ish year old Catamaran (Gemini 105mc??) take it to the Bahamas and do mainly coastal cruising until I learn enough to take it to the big Blue waters. I am new to sailing also, so have much to learn. I would love to hear from people who are doing this, or have done it, or like me- want to do it too.

Many thanks,

Tyler

A hearty "welcome aboard" Tyler. Make yourself at home in this friendly community and ask as many questions as you like.

Good luck with your future plans. Enjoy!

Hi, sounds like a good plan to me.

The Bahamas have some of the prettiest water I've seen. It is a great place to spend a lot of time, and the Bahamians are lovely people as well.

I've seen quite a few Gemini's on the East Coast of the US and in the Florida Keys. With only a 14' beam I'm not sure it would be a blue water boat, but it sure works really well in the Keys and the Bahamas.

Ask away, we'll do our best to answer your questions, and even better (IMO) we'll be your cheering section as well.
