new to sailing although I have dabbled in it for years. Now I am starting to get serious about it. Looking for something between 28-32ft. So until I find the one I am looking and trying to find people near whereI live to go sailing with. I am in Northern Virginia.

burrrrrrrr, I think it will be a wee bit cold to sail in N.V. for now. I would use the time to cruise the docks, and get to know people. Possibly join a club where you can meet sailors with boats. Maybe by springtime you will have a network of boat owners to sail with. I would also get on every kind of boat I could. Start learning the differences, so when it comes time to buy you have a better idea of what will fit your desires.
