Greetings to all:

I followed up on a "wild hare" posting last year. I am now the caretaker for s/v Shangri La currently 'on the hard' in Noumea, New Caledonia. In the next few months we will be heading off for ???. My wife would like me to bring Shangri La North to our home in Alaska. She, however, is not a fan of blue water sailing. So, for now I will be going it... however it comes along.

Initial thoughts are to voyage up past New Guinea to arrive in Guam for this season. Coming back next year to either cross the pacific to Hawai'i or continue on up along the Eastern Pacific to the Aleutians and Alaska.

Time will tell.

I thoroughly enjoy reading all the posts, but time awaits no one and so I must get back to preparations!

We're glad to have you here posting. Sounds like you'll have an interesting trip however you decide to go. What part of Alaska will you ultimately go to? I've always wanted to do the trip you'll be doing via the Aleutians to Alaska so we will be very interested in hearing about your passages. Likely the trip via Hawaii will be an easier go, though.
