Welcome aboard SeaNote! Moderator Trim50 (Ken and Lori) did the HaHa a couple years ago--they're in AU now--so you'll surely want to talk with them about their experiences.

What is your sailing experience prior to this? Will you be staying in Mexico for a bit? Perhaps you'll be able to meet up with some of the CruiserLog members there, if so.

Some members are in SFBay area. Do you know where you'll be berthing? Plans?

If timing/tides/weather or the SF bar doesn't suit your entry to the Bay and making it to your chosen anchorage/marina in good time, Drake's Bay is an easy (huge) anchorage to pop into while you tarry a bit to get your timing right. Easy place to anchor in the middle of the night (with GPS and charts).

We've been up and down the coast between here and San Diego, so if you're going to check out the scenary, ask away in terms of good anchorages.

Again, welcome aboard.

G'day Seanote. Ditto to RBP's welcome above. I'm heading for Mexico. I'll shout you a beer if I see your lovely boat early 2013.
Cheers
David
