Thank you, it was quite an adventure first time out by our self, four weeks sence lessons and it was windy, we learned so much, but I wish someone would have told us you dont have to sail with the jib up all the time and when in dought let it out, although we did figure that out on our own. First two hours were a little hecktic but the next two were great it ended on a good note, cant wait till the next time...
Sail on,
Joe

CalJoe,
What kind of boat did you sail? I take it you also had lessons on the same type of boat? Congrats on your first "on your own" sailing day!
Fair winds,

Hi redbopeep, sorry for the long response time been out of town for a week ( not sailing:-( ) the boat is a 22' Capri yes the same boat we took lessons on, I figure we'll do 20 to 30 more hours on that, then take the next class basic costal cruising, they take us out on a Hunter 27 and a Catalina 28 for two days, they tell me its easyer to sail the bigger boats single handed cause everything is run right to the helm, I just about killed my wife tacking out of the marina last time with her working the jib ( hey she didnt want to steer out of the marina ) we wont be putting that out till we're out in the bay from now on lol ( live and learn ).
Sail on,
Caljoe

Hi gang, its been awhile, I've been sailing as much as posable and i'm just about ready for the next course I feel confident and ready, i'm doing 8 more hours in the Capri then moving up to a Hunter 27 and a Catalina 28, cant wait to hit open ocean. And oh I've got great news, my wife is starting to get into it, she asked me how long it takes to get to the caribian I said probably 3 weeks and she said can we do that for a vacation, I about fell out of my chair... So things are looking up.
Hope all is well with everybody.
Sail on,
Joe
