Talking

Ahoy.

I spend my weekdays working and living in Singapore, and then weekends in Sebana Cove Marina, working (on S/V Eleanor boat projects) and living onboard S/V Calliste.

Doug and I are trying our best to get both boats ready for a short cruise around Malaysia East Coast and the beautiful islands of Tioman, Redang... We hope to be there summer next year.

S/V Eleanor is a 18.5ft Cape Dory Typhoon Weekender. A sweet little boat that is perhaps too small to cruise corfortably.. but short distance jump between ports should be fun.

S/V Calliste is a 28ft British Channel Cutter that is currently going thru mast replacement. The original mast was badly damaged in the 2004 Tsunami and repair work was stopped by the disruption of the 2008 financial Tsunami. Work is ongoing now, hopefully will be done early next year.

We have been regular readers of Cruiserlog forums, tho we havent really contributed to it. Thank you, moderators and contributors for making this forum fun and informative. I hope our paths will cross soon.

My blog is quite a mess, but if you are interested to know more about us, our boats and Singapore/Sebana, you are most welcome to visit funvinyldecals.wordpress.com

Welcome back,

I remember Calliste well, 2 boats - Tenacity II and Deusa that were re-anchoring a number of boats that had dragged and others that had broken away from the pontoons in Telaga, reported the damage to your Calliste. I have often wondered what happened her - thanks!

Richard

Oh, welcome!

We look forward to your contributions and to hearing all about your travels as you make them. I love the look of the boats based on the Bristol Channel Cutters, btw.

Fair winds,

Hi, We have moved!

We are no longer at Sebana. Now berthed at Marina@Keppel Bay.

Look us up if you are in the region.

Cheers,

Lang

Hi!

I must have missed your first post here. I still miss that area of the world terribly. When we first arrived in the area I thought we'd never leave. Not to be.

Have you seen my cruising notes for the E. Malaysia coast, and parts of Thailand? Cruising guide and notes for East coast Malaysia

Fair winds,

Jeanne

Hi Jeanne,

Got to your link 1st time today. Its great. Thanks for sharing.

We are looking at sailing Calliste back to the US West Coast next year. Our intended route will bring us to HK, Okinawa, Osaka, somewhere in Alaska, Vancouver, Port Townsend.... Do you have info for making that route?

Been checking out sailing blogs but I havent found any practical information on passing by HK and Japan... in English. Any advise?

Cheers,

Lang

Here's a link that might be of some help: http://www.sail-japan.info/site/

15 years ago we met an Aussie couple who had spent several years sailing in Japan, but I can't find their boat name or information right now.

I'll keep looking for stuff.
