Hi everyone. I'm new to the site but have been sailing for quite a while. I look forward to learning more and making new friends here. Take care.

G'Day and welcome to the site.

I'm sure you'll find it as useful as we have - and enjoyable company also.

Sail safe

Lighthouse, John and Brenda, thanks for the welcome.

I've grown up around sailboats and lived on one when I was younger. I've never raced competivley, just between friends. I mostly cruise and am on my 5th sailboat Hannah. I'm moving aboard on the 15th www.viksund-ms.com

Cute boat! So--what year was yours built? I have always liked the look of canoe stern boats like this. Um...it is a ketch but looks at a glance like a yawl. How does she sail? Where do you plan to take her?

Since you're moving aboard soon--I take it all the systems are pretty much in good stead? Are you in a marina w/shore power or will you be anchored/moored to start with? If so--what are your power generation capabilities? Solar? Wind?

Hannah is a 1972 vintage. She is a Ketch and sails well. Eventually she will be taking me to Brazil and beyond. I'm getting quite proficient in Portuguese and better at Spanish. May as well use it... The systems are good but can use with some upgrading. The marina does have shore power, water, t.v., phone, and all the trimmings of a boat workshop, showers, laundry, mail, storage, pool, beach access, wifi, ect. ect. I do have a wind generator that is more than adequate to keep the batteries charged.
