Greetings, Kindred Spirits!

I am glad to know there is a website community like this open to new members.

A little about me- I'm a jill of many salty trades -former salmon boat puller, stewardess on Caribbean cruise ships/three masted schooners/and a motor yacht, leader of whale watching expeditions, scientific research assistant aboard an oceanographic vessel, director of coastal natural history center, oceanography instructor, marine ed specialist, sea kayaker, scuba diver) and recently back from 10 glorious days sailing in the Sea of Cortez.

The siren's call of the sea is deafening these days and I need advice on finding a safe and hopefully paid position aboard a sailing vessel starting this fall or winter. In my younger days I would have simply hung around the marinas or coastal towns. Since my home is in the mountains of Oregon I'm not sure where to begin. I see many posted positions but am wary of internet solicitations.

Any and all thoughts are cheerfully accepted!

Thanks,

Mary

Welcome aboard Mary. Unfortunately, this would not be a good site to find a paid position as our crewfinders are non-commercial and used by cruisers to find non-commercial crew to assist them with passages. We would hope that you would be an active member of our forums but you would unfortunately have to look elsewhere to find a paying crew position.

Welcome aboard and hope to hear how you get along.
