Morning,

Thanks for the welcome will try to add some constructive knowledge re live-aboard/cruising from our 12yr experiences and even hurricane anchoring etc if need be. Will also appreciate gleaning from the forum's members experiences and knowledge re boat types, electronic equipment etc.

Regards,

Clyde

G'day Springbok,

Welcome - but shame about the name. Reminds this expat Auzzie of a certain sporting team............

Enjoy the site

Thanks guys for the comments. All sporting teams have highs and lows-ask Wales and England re rugby and now Australia after many years of dominating World cricket. So we will enjoy the moment.

Re yacht purchase at end of year World economy and SA's exchange rate with the dollar make things look gloomy at present, hoping it will recover by then.Looked at some yachts in SA, very overpriced, most with minimal or dated cruising gear (electronics, dingies etc).Property prices have gone down 20% yet boat prices remain static.

Regards,

Clyde
