Hello everyone. I am new here, looking to learn some more tips on cruising. I am a single mom of 2 young boys and the Captain of the vessel. I have an 8M Prowler (motor) on Georgian Bay, Ontario. I will also be spending some time as the First Mate sailing along the coast of California. Eventually, I plan on moving from motor to sail. My boys have been "boating" from before they were born. I have been the Captain for only 2 seasons but have been "boating" for about 15yrs now. Looking forward to exchanging "boat" talk and your forum(s). I hope this goes through ok (computer skills not as good as Captain skills... Regards to all.

Welcome to CruiserLog and welcome to the world of sailing. Motor-boating is great fun, as you will know, but sailing sure beats it! Have fun, take care and enjoy it.

In the beginning you are sure to have a whole host of questions. Feel free to ask them on these boards. There is a mine of knowledge amongst our members and they are happy to share it.

Thank you all for your greetings. I am still trying to figure out how to navigate these waters (website) . I will take some time to learn and looking forward to meeting the bunch. After I recover from my most recent home moving, I will prepare for the spring launch. I am a little anxious about the list of things to do before the launch. My approach will be to take my time, do what is neccessary to get her in the water and tackle the rest after that. One of the reasons I want to move to sail is because I will only have one deisel engine to look after rather than two complicated gas engines! I will be working on this change over the next few years. Looking forward to learning more about your site. Regards to all.
