Ah. The American Practical Navigator. Probably the definitive navigation text book but not for the faint hearted.
I have a printed version which has been on my bookshelf for years. It is about 10 cm thick!
A brilliant book but it goes way beyond the needs, scope and perhaps even ability of the average yachtsman. Of course, no member of CruiserLog is the average yachtsman but even so, this book probably exceeds by far our needs.

I too have the printed version (on my boat). It has lots of info. Have read parts of it but not all. I am reserving it for my dotage.

Brilliant!!! I'm constantly impressed that American information (Pilot Charts etc) is freely available whilst in the UK (even though the tax payer funds official publications) Admiralty information has to be paid for and Admiralty charts are not supposed to be copied.

Is there any chance British and other European politicians would hear this and go in the same direction? Methinks not but it would certainly be a pleasant and positive surprise, nay a stunning chock, if they did.
