Default B & G Instruments for Sale

Cleaning out after the Nicholson refit, I find I have a few extra items. These were working when removed from the boat. One set came installed and the others were included when I bought the boat.
-Hornet 4 Sailing Monitor
- Hecta Hornet Depth Monitor
- Hunter Speed/Log/Depth Monitor
- Analog Wind Speed Display
- Analog APWind Display
- Analog Magnified Wind Angle Display
- Hornet Boat Speed Transducer (short stem)
- Spare impellers for above
- Hecta/Hornet Digital Depth/Speed Dislpay
- Hecta Digital Depth Display

$600 for the lot.

That's so tempting. I have a broken 1970s Fuji Royal RF120 analog depth display on one yacht and nothing at all on the other. Also scored a couple of faulty Raymarine wireless units (thanks Del) but don't have a sender unit to faultfind them.

But with the AUD at 77 cents, not right now. :-(

Just checking around and I noticed an ebay listing from March 5th 2015. Hornet 4 Monitor, analog wind speed and direction with manual and wiring, finished with no bids at $70.00 starting price.

Brook Gatehouse Hornet 4 Sailing Monitor Analog Wind Diresction Speed | eBay

Seems like the market for 1980s equipment is fairly dead, parts and service now being almost non-existent. Would consider buying this package if the price came down somewhat.

Yes, I actually have the items listed on eBay. I can come down somewhat, perhaps you can private message me and we can put together an accord... Jeff

Auzzee,

I've heard the epitome of good taste is to know how to play the accordion, and refraining.

Cheers.

I heard the same about harmonicas. I think with both instruments (and with the probable inclusion of the bagpipes) the adage would hold true

The B&G instruments have arrived and kudos to Jeff for the great job in safely double-boxing them. This week I also scored a stack of dead instruments from the adjacent yacht in Sydney that was hit by lightning so I have instruments coming out my ears now. Happy is.

The Irish invented whisky. The Scots improved on it with their fine single malts.

The Irish invented porridge. The Scots improved on it with finely rolled oatmeal, boiled in crystal clear water from the burn, with salt, sugar, honey or haggis.

The Irish invented the kilt. The Scots improved on it with fine woollen fabrics, tartans and other clan colourings, and the addition of the sporran of course.

The Irish invented the bagpipe. The Scots haven't gotten the joke yet.

Tested the free but supposedly dead instruments in the past few days (see #9 above). So far the following bits apparently work:

- ST60+ Graphic Display E22075-P
- ST6001+ Autopilot Control E12098
- Rule Mate 1100gph bilge pump
- Regulator ON/OFF switch in plastic box
- Comar CSB200 Class B AIS Transponder
- Furuno DFAX FAX207 weather fax

On the other hand, the following are definitely cooked:

ST60 Depth & Speed (no obvious damage but don't light up)
ST60 Wind Display (copped the brunt of the lightning strike)
Comar AST200 antenna splitter (ditto, it's toasted internally)
Xintex S1 propane fume detector (false alarms)
Mastervolt Alpha-Pro MV alternator regulator (shorted)

Interesting to see what damage lightning will do with a direct strike.

I also have the Balmar 100A alternator and am expecting to find shorted diodes at least, but it hasn't been tested.

Del, I got the Mn02-Li batteries in the mail today. Wrong plug. Grrrr.

Anyone got a couple of dead Raymarine MN100 display batteries that I can scrounge plugs from?
