The R108 and the R109 are great pieces of kit.

See an earlier thread where I was searching for one. HERE

You will find photos and other information on that thread.

I an VERY satisfied with the set. I am sure you will have no problems selling yours Dave.

Hi,

These receivers are capable of rceiving radio signals on VHF, LW, MF SW and navigational frequencies. Mine also has a and bearing compass with a ferrite rod antenna and headphones which permit it to be used for radio DF (direction finding).

It is old technology and the Sailor sets a rock solid pieces of kit. I would not reccomend the fitting of such a set in a modern boat but it fits fine in NAISIKAA as she is of that era. I use it mainly for receiving normal radio broadcasts i.e. for pleasure, for news, for weather and time signals.

The hand bearing compass is also fitted with a prism and can be used for taking visual bearings too as well as being a good reserve compass.
