An Australian couple has been tied up and robbed aboard their yacht in Fiji, highlighting the growing number of crimes against tourists in the country. Gold Coast couple Brian Kevin, 62, and Doda Coraly, 59, were targeted on Saturday when two bandits climbed aboard their yacht, moored at a jetty on the main island of Viti Levu, the Fiji Times reported.

The men assaulted the couple and tied them up, leaving them with minor injuries.

The men also stole a laptop computer, guitar, satellite phone and about $6400 in foreign and local currency, police said.

The two attackers have been arrested and the stolen items recovered after being thrown into the sea in an attempt to hide the evidence. Unfortunately the money has not been recovered.

The local police have been quick to react to this isolated incident.
