Default Wreckage in the Timor Sea

This article suggests wreckage found could be from Nina which went missing in the Tasman. That seems unlikely to me, but it still looks like someone had a bad problem:

While we were in Lord Howe Island in December we heard that one of the locally owned yachts had been salvaged after it was found drifting near the island. It had been abandoned in the Bass Strait.

While I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the remains found off Darwin are from the Nina, the article seems to imply that there's a good chance. It could have easily traveled that far north if the steering system was damaged. However, colored mast or not, we don't know if Nina had rings made in NZ and a sail made in Sydney. Since it was a US boat, not likely.

A bit of a mystery there.

There has been no further information regarding this wreckage, despite it being snagged seven weeks ago. (last week in March) It seems odd that there has been no follow up on this yarn.
