G'day from Australia!

Sailing around Sydney is simply sensational!

I hope I'm not asking a redundant question, but...

I have a Garmin GPSMap 440 and wish to make it an AIS receiver /sender. And I want to do it as inexpensively as possible.

Does anyone know of an inexpensive AIS receiver and / or transmitter that is capable to connect to this plotter?

I'm still undecided if I wish to make it a receive only or transmit as well... but I'm leaning toward a receive only installation.

Thanks for your help.

To Life!

Kirk

Hi Kirk, the most reasonable price for a specialist company's AIS gear is to be found here : C L I C K

There is bound to be others a little cheaper. But compared to what Garmin want for theirs !!!!+*&&$@!

G'day y'all - 'Gallivanters', crew-famlily - oh & Admiral Kirk-o. Great to have you back down-under cobber. Some wonderful harbour to cruise around in is Sydney. Del aka 'delatbabel' (SV Chiara Stella) is 1/ in the 'IT' business, 2/ lives in Sydney, 3/ Asked about your 'windless' - for sale & not least of all is a 'moderator' here in CF's. Check out Del's profile & that should do the trick. I'm impressed & I'm 'old', male & live 3 1/2 ks north. Kirk-o are you going to make it up North before leaving Aussie land(water) ???

Good sailing, mate & enjoy your time down here with us, please, ciao, james - remember - snags & prawns are on the barbie, eh!!
