Unhappy

Good day everybody.

We are trying to make a decision at this time, whether to use type 2 or type 3 anodizing on our brand new mast. We made this mast ourselves from mill finish aluminium extrusions. Now, we have been to the anodizing companies and they ask us which type of anodizing do we want. .. but we dont know which is the type to choose.

I am wondering if you know what type of anodizing is on your mast? If your mast is anodized, is it clear, colored, gloss or matt? Dark colored matt anodizing is usually type 3, whereas light colored are definately not type 3. Dark colored gloss, maybe its type 2 with dye.

Here, I am trying to collect some information on anodized mast and how durable the anodizing is. So let me know if you have any problems (or no problems at all) with the mast, and the description of the finishing. That would really help us with making the right choice.

Have a good one, today.

Lang
