hello

We recently finsihed our 25ft bowsprit extension and got our new sails, 3 fore sails. one for the bows and two for the bowspirt. Now do I called the number 1 fore sail a jib sail and the other two, spritsails. Some clarification would be appreciated for my crew, do i say fly the no 1 jib and the no 2 and 3 sprit.

Jibsail ( or should my alias be now spritsail)

One person who could answer this properly for you is rigger Jamie White. He works for the US Park Service at the San Francisco Maritime Museum and he also does a variety of other sailing and rigging projects. You can get in touch with him via his website http://www.thesquarerigger.com/ or through the museum http://www.nps.gov/safr/. Suggest you simply go through his own site since you are not local in San Francisco.

fair winds,

Love to see the pictures of your boat fully rigged and under sail - the addition of the 25ft bowsprit was surely needing lots of input re sail controls
