I have an older Lewmar Traveler on my 15.5 Idylles. I have just about finished my total refit and am now mounting all of the new hardware winches, port, tracks, etc. I put new oversized harken blocks on my traveler before I pulled the boat a few years ago, but I left the original lewmar car because I like the rugged older roller bearings. The new torlon ones everyone raves about suck if you ask me. They turn into eggs after awhile and can't handle any dirt elements etc. On my buddies jeaneau they actually blew out of the main sheet track cars. My question is, does anyone know where I can purchase these older lewmar bearings for my mainsheet car. I had to use 2 to rebuild 6 of the original 8. ( 4 per side). Any info????? Thanks Nelson S S/V Lazypalm

You might wish to look at the spec on each component to make sure the bearings are rated similarly. And, if not, you'll know which component will fail.

Info about your Lewmar stuff including replacement parts: http://www.lewmar.com/contact-us.asp

Places here on the West Coast of the US that might be able to get what you need include

Svendsens Boat Works in the SF Bay CA area. They have a rigging shop as well as lots of other stuff. http://www.svendsens.com

Sailing Supply in the SD, CA area. They are part of the Marine Exchange http://www.downwindmarine.com/downlo...ntactInfo.html

Good luck
