Kantola Trimarans
My dad owned a 1988 Kantola 36’ built by Bob Perkins of California Custom Yachts. The boat was named StarTide, and he sold it in the late 1990s when it was located in San Pedro.
Our family would love nothing more than to find another Kantola, or ideally learn more about where any of them may be today. If anyone has knowledge of a Kantola currently for sale, or knows of one that may become available, I would be incredibly grateful.
Some time ago, someone sent me photos of what may have been my dad’s old boat sitting in a yard in Napa, California. Unfortunately, I believe it may have been destroyed by the yard after being abandoned.
Years ago, I also had plans for the Kantola design and had considered building one new, but I can no longer find those plans. If anyone knows where I might be able to locate a set of Kantola plans, or has any leads on the design, builder, or remaining boats, I would greatly appreciate it.
I thought I would try posting in a few forums in the hope of tracking down other Kantolas and, with any luck, bringing one back into our family.
