who has an opinion or experience about the Nautitech 39.5

we are going to have a look at one in 2 weeks after many months of comparing

We are mono hull sailors so need some back up with experience against our theory

Hello Eric,

My only concern is the location of the steering helm - although it does give a good view ahead on starboard.

From a safety point of view and also depending on whether the bimini has been extended to provide cover for the helmsman - either by a hardtop or canvas - then this design falls short on meeting basic safety and comfort requirements.

The idea of standing in the top step of the starboard transom - without a decent seat, in the weather has little appeal.

Take a look at this web site, http://www.chriswhitedesigns.com/index.php , then decide. Chris Whites' designs are not for everybody but neither is having a helm one step from going overboard. They are a tad pricey, especially if you go for the 48 model with an aft deck. However after talking to him, there are a few good used ones for sale or that will be for sale, as some of his old customers are moving up in size. Take the time to read his site and logs to get an idea as to what cat does what. Also a St. Francis is another good choice. The Nauti's and the Catansa are nice boats but the helm stations.........

Good Luck!

Yes we looked at Nauti's and decides no-go because of the helm position.
