After vacillating for about 18 months now on what to buy and doing numerous demo sails, going to 5 or 6 different boat shows and basically kicking the tires, I have finally taken the plunge.

We putting in a order for a Leopard 40 Owners Version. The final delivery date has not been agreed upon just yet but in all likelihood we will take delivery after the 2009 Annapolis boat show. Once we check her out and have done a shake down from Annapolis to JAX we will wait for good weather and then spend a year in Caribbean before sailing to Galapagos, then Clipperton Island, Hawaii for a year on a Computer contract and then head along the Circle route once we get back to it. These are exiting time for us and just hope the market holds so that we can head out as per plan. Thank you Jimmy Cornell ...

The boat name is a different matter, we are currently leaning towards Rhapsody, but I thought Amur would be good (A very rare Leopard, only 27 left in the world). The wife says that Amur does not roll off her tongue and she is the boss. Hmm that reminds me I have got to go and find my spine, I know I had one as I used to walk upright. JUST KIDDING on the spine thing. If my wife reads this she may just hit me with it. OOPs again.. Just cant resist....

12 months? That worse than having a baby. Obviously your wife is not Latin if Amur doesn't roll off her tongue.

Zimbabwean or Zambian... Swahili and Xhosa roll off just fine, but latin. Hmmm, amo, amas, amat, amamus, amantus, amant. Took it at school but have not been able to find a dead Roman to speak it to.

I could get it sooner but there is a deal to be had if I wait, and to me there no point in getting the boat in June or July just in time for the Hurricane season, but yes pretty damned painful, maybe not now but give it about 6 months and ask me how I feel
