The Lynx helicopter from HMS Montrose spotted the vessel anchored offshore during one of her dawn patrols.

Gunners then sank it with heavy machine gun fire 'in full view of the pirate camp', a Nato statement said ....

Yes, well done H.M.S. Montrose. Unfortunately, the damage inflicted is negligible. The boat will soon be replaced.

Now that NATO has contravened UNCLOS by taking this action in territorial waters, why do they not simply put marines ashore and take out the pirates too?
