Hawaii, Alaska, or any Charter
I spent 20 years trapped in a cubical before escaping and making my way to sea. I have done the office thing, the corporate thing. Now I am pursuing a life at sea.
Eventually I plan on buying my own yacht and offering multi-day charters in Alaska and Hawaii. In the meantime I am working to gain the experience I need.
I have been sailing full time now for 18 months. At this point I want to gain additional experience on charter boats, or on any boats in Hawaii or Alaska or going to or from ether.
Objective: Deckhand or Mate position.
Personal: US Citizen, US passport, driver’s license, 100 ton Inland Master / NC Mate, OUPV, OS, STCW95, non-smoker, non-drinker, drug free. I don’t get seasick.
Summary: Mature, careful, sober and intelligent. More than 20 years experience in problem solving. Can work independently or as part of a team. I have done the corporate thing - the office thing. Now I am looking for a more active lifestyle with the quality of the experience being a bigger consideration than the money.
Skills, Certifications and Licenses:
STCW95: Basic Safety Training. TWIC card.
USCG 100 ton Inland Master / Near Coastal Mate / OUVP licenses. MMC: Ordinary Seaman, Radio operator license.
Aircraft: Private pilot - single engine land (not current).
SCUBA: PADI certified open water diver.
Software engineering: Multiple computer languages, good computer skills.
Other: Simple cooking, maintenance, painting, fiberglass work, Etc.
