I'm 35 years old, non smoking, American male seeking a junior position on a transatlantic crossing, UK to Americas. Currently enrolled in RYA courses in Largs, Scotland. Will complete "Competent Crew" and "Day Skipper" at the end of August 2013.
About me:
I've just completed a 3200km unsupported bicycle tour from Florence, Italy to Copenhagen, Denmark. I'm trying to expand this trans-european escapade into a trans-oceanic one. My sailing experience is limited, so I'll rely heavily on orders and training from the RYA. This may be an asset to you, train me however you wish. I have plenty of time - so we can test our compatibility and practice emergency procedures before departing.
- Physically fit. Cycled 3200km, amateur boxer, strong swimmer, Argentine tango dancer (seriously).
- Mechanically skilled. Engine mechanics, printing presses, understanding of sewing machines, professional photographer for 15 years.
- Well traveled, 25 countries in Europe, Asia, South America. I speak some Spanish, German, & Italian.
- Will pay up to $20USD per day for shared expenses.
