We are a 60 year old couple looking for 2 additional couples to crew our 94 ft Thackwray from Vancouver Island to San Diego. This will be a 'power run' with few or no stops planned. Expected departure is mid-August and will take around 10 days. The boat is in Campbell River BC but it will easy to pick people up from either Vancouver or Victoria. We do not expect anyone to share expenses. The boat is non-smoking, certainly non-drug but is light-alcohol. Music is mostly classical.

We are very easy-going. We do not need experienced people as much as we need easy personalities who do not become anxious, hyperactive, bossy or afraid. We need enough experience, however, to know that folks will not be incapicitated with seasickness. The main "job" is to stand watches reliably. We plan to have a total of 6 people on board to make watches easy. We prefer couples because the boat is set up nicely for that and all-guy crews are too aggressive. Pre-voyage interviews (both ways!) would be real nice if they can be arranged.

We sail when there's wind but the boat does not go hard to weather. The boat is big and heavy, comfortable and slow.

I think I've attached one photo. I'll be pleased to send responders a link to photographs. Our email address is svfairhaven. That address is at Yahoo.com.

Hi. I tried to post a reply yesterday but it did not go through. I will try again. My wife and I will be out a Comox July 4 to 12 and would be able to meet around then. The middle of Aug would be difficult but any time in Sept would work better for us. At least the kids would be busy with school then

I'd be very interested in a position aboard your vessel. I am a semi-retired attorney now working as an EMT and Firefighter, getting ready to pursue my Paramedic certification. I have prior sailing experience in freshwater and bluewater experience on power boats. I'm educated, conversational and able to take and follow directions. I am not married though. If you would like to know more about me, you can find quite a bit more at www.myspace.com/bt1961, or write me with anything you'd like to know at arackanaxeandthepackonmyback@yahoo.com.

This spot is nicely filled with a perfect couple from Seattle and a pair of good friends in BC. Thanks for reading this one. PK and Julia.
