Tastes good, smells REALLY bad. Don't bring it on the boat!

In the same category as vegemite - any discussion regarding D/Turian is not encouraged .

The suggestion that it should be brought on board is out of order.

Is it really as bad as that

Some say that its banned on public transport in Singapore.

Not quite like bunch of grapes then

Cheers

Durian is prized by the Philippino population in Darwin. It STINKS!!! I have been told that the pegging of one's snout prior to tasting it makes all the difference. Maybe one day....if I get really hungry!

It's an ugly fruit, smells awful (most places in Singapore ban it), but friends say that people who managed to get past the smell to eat it can't get enough of it.

Friends once brought me Durian candy - I'll try anything at least once (well, most anything). I couldn't finish it. It tastes like a sweet hard candy but still smells like a horse stall that hasn't been mucked out. Strange combination of flavors/smells.

Discover Magazine, in its "Vital Signs" department, published an article about Durian fruit and a dangerous potassium overload in a dialysis patient. https://discovermagazine.com/2007/mar/vital...-high-potassium

Makes me think about the wonders of nature.

Close Jeanne....Make it a tropical un-mucked out horse stall in which a load of gorgonzola has been left to ripen in the sun....and we're almost there 'durian-wise'.
