Sailing Clipper race - yachts arrive in Durban
 
Western Australia leads the fleet into Durban, South Africa in the third leg of the 05-06 Clipper Round the World yacht race. The second yacht across the line was New York, followed by Cardiff and Qingdao. Further yachts expected in today after crossing the Atlantic from Salvadore.

The Sailing Clipper race started at midday on Sunday, 18th September 2005 from Liverpool, the Clipper 05 – 06 Round the World Yacht Race takes ten identical 68ft ocean racing yachts, all backed by international cities, islands and countries, on the world’s longest circumnavigation race.

The route is as follows:

Liverpool, UK

Cascais, Portugal

Salvador, Brazil,

Durban, South Africa

Fremantle, Western Australia

Singapore

Qingdao, China

Yokohama, Japan

Victoria, Canada

Curacao, Caribbean

New York, USA

Jersey, Channel Islands

Liverpool, UK
