Hi from Sweden!

I´m a young girl how´s just can´t wait to get out in the world! I would really like to be a crewmember on a bigger boat but since I´m not so experienced I don´t really know what to do! Where I´m going is not important, I just want to be a part of a crew, get new friends and enjoy the sailing. I hope I on this site can get some information about how one can join a crew and maybe some tips about whom I should seek contact with! I would like to be on a boat with other young people, but from and to where is not so important. :)

Welcome aboard!

Sweden is a country full of boats. My husband lived there during his last year of high school and was a Sea Scout there. He said it was great how many opportunities to get out and sail that one has in the summers there.

Where is Skövde? It is often possible to get immediate sailing experience with local boating clubs or yacht clubs. Are there any nearby? I have a friend in Malmö who owns a sail boat that she keeps nearby there and uses in the summers.

Are you interested in joining a cruising boat in a far off port or simply sailing locally where you are? Big difference in commitment to those choices.

Fair winds,

Skövde is in the middle of Sweden, no sea nearby! But I spend most of the summer in small towns by the west coast.

I would like to go on a longer trip far off. Mostly becuase I really want to learn and if I go on a longer trip I will have more time to do that. :)

Though my experience only comes from sailing with my family. Maybe I most sail shorter trips first to get more experience? Or are there boats how take in people even if they aren´t so experienced? :)

Check out the crew wanted ads here to get an idea of where people are going and what they're looking for.

Once the summer comes, I heartily suggest that you also get in touch with boat clubs in Sweden. You may find someone who is willing to have you join them in some small trips.

Good luck!
