Hi everyone, just a quick question. I am needing to purchase a new GPS for long-distance cruising and cannot seem to get answers about the differences between the different units that Garmin makes.

So my question is which GPS units are you guys using and why? Would you recommend your unit and how is it working for you? I am sold on the Garmin units because I have used them for many years and had

lots of time to compair brands. Garmin units just work, period. I don't know much about their chartplotters so I am asking for you input. Let me hear from all of you.

I'm pretty much over the whole chartplotter thing. Laptop + OpenCPN or SOB + GPS + charts just seems to work better and offer a bit more functionality these days.
