After 3+ years of cruising the Caribbean, it's fast becoming time to retire our trusty old Stingray inflatable keel ducky. It has served us well, but the keel has had a slow leak from the start that has evaded detection & repair, and drives us nuts! I want to replace it with a "new" aluminium hulled AB rib - about 9.5'. I know the AB (& Caribs) used to be manufactured in Venezuela, but the factories have apparantly been moved to Columbia for political/economical reasons, and as a result they are scarcer than hen's teeth in Venezuela. Since we are currently in Bonaire and heading west, I was wondering if anyone might have some info about whether it's possible to buy an AB cheaper in Columbia? I'm also not against buying a used tender, but it would have to be in excellent condition...

Club Natico in Cartagena is apparently a dealer for AB, I'd suggest you contact them before you arrive to see what kind of price they'll offer. *Club Nautico, Cartagena, Colombia

Budget Marine is a dealer for AB aluminum dinghies. I bought mine in St Maarten (St Martin) where they give a substantial discount. They are also available at any Budget Marine dealer in the Caribbean, albeit you might have to wait for one to be shipped down from St. Maarten.

I missed that. *There's a Budget Marine in both Bonaire and Curacao. *Have you priced them there?
