In an attempt to wean the Freedom Sailboat forum away from Yahoo Groups and

onto a much richer platform, a new forum has been created. You can find it

at:

FreedomYachts.org

Please note the ".org" (instead of ".com" which takes you to the now

defunct manufacturers site.)

Similar to this group, which is supposedly about cruising, this new forum

will supposedly discuss Freedom sailboats... :-)

I am pleased to see that Freedon yachts now have their own discussion boards - good luck with it.

I am however surprised that there is no link there to either our Cruising Forum ( www.cruiserlog.com ) or the World Cruising Wiki ( www.cruiserlog.com/wiki/ ) which contains a vast amount of information of interest to all Freedom owners.

Good luck with the project.

Feel free to log on to the site and post links any sites that you think would be useful. I've had my hands full making sure that everything is working correctly. I think that a link to the Cruising Wiki was recently posted.

Sorry! Could find nothing on this specific boat. Had some trouble logging on. Rather confusing! What to do?

Default Freedom 35 Mast fitting

I recently purchased a Freedom 35.

I am trying to find out how the masts, they are aluminium, are sealed as they pass through the deck. They have collars either side bolted together, what is between them as a seal.

In addition, I have tried to register with freedomyachts.org but cannot find a 'join here' sort of invitation, anyone know how to.
