I have a Perkins Prima 60 (60 hp) motor in my boat, I pulled the motor, cleaned it, checked it over, had oil leaks repaired (hopefully) and when I put it back in the boat the starter somehow locked in and after half an hour or so it burnt out the windings in the motor.

So now I have no starter, my local auto elec is at his whits end and has tried two generic starters, neither of which seemed to work satisfactorily.

Any ideas???

Apparently the Prima 60 was re-badged under different names as well, but I don't know if starters will fit.
