Atlantic From The Caribbean To The Uk

We are new to this forum, so please excuse us if the topic is covered elsewhere on the website. We are planning our return to the UK next spring and have been reading various pieces of perceived advise as to the earliest time to undertake this journey. We've got a big sturdy Nauticat and would like to undertake the trip as early as possible in the season. From Jimmy Cornell's information, it would seem that the best option would be to do the Antigua - Azores route around late-April, then the Azores - UK leg mid-May.

Any further guidance or information would be gladly received. We know it's not going to be the most comfortable journey on earth!

The 54 foot yacht flying colours was lost on May 9 this year in bad weather. The later you leave it the better the chances of good weather. I went via Bermuda which breaks up the journey and only adds 200 miles.
