Hello All,

Do forum members know of the Cheoy Lee 48 ketch from the mid 1980s? They're designed by the august Bob Perry, so I assume they sail well. Does anybody have one, or know of their general offshore performance? ...Regards.....Tel

When I was in Hong Kong, an Australian friend was working for Cheoy Lee as the Quality Controller for boats being built for Australia - he took me round the enormous boat yard several times. Although I often sailed as crew on Cheoy Lees - I cannot remember sailing on one as big as the 48.

I don't know how they fare from blister disease - that period of builds produced some problems 10 years plus down the line, therefore a surveyor would want a careful examination of the hull for a prospective buyer.
