A friend came across these pics of an unfortunate incident in Gilleje Harbour in Denmark.

The boat was at 26 tonnes and the crane snapped as it lifted the boat off the cradle to splash her.

Reminds one to check cranes and hoists at marinas etc. before letting them touch your baby !!

IIRC the boat was a freshly restored 6 or 10 metre.

I'm afraid I can't make out a boat in the first pic?? I see what looks like a VW Passat with maybe a crushed roof? Pics are too tiny to makeout much. Would you by chance have any larger pics? Would be interesting to see! Thanx!!!

Sorry... no way of loading bigger.... the site itself reduces the images.

I am also not enough of a "Dr. Spock" to use all things computer correctly.

I think the source pics were taken using a cellphone so there is not much to start with.

The irony is that the VW delivery van ...."Caddy" we call them".... actually belongs to the company that owns the crane.

An area manager arrived in it to "supervise" the effort.

Maybe I can mail them to one of you and then you can load them in proper fashion ??

Take it easy
