Hi Everybody,

I know everyone has their own personal favorites so I'm trying to get a general feel for the more heavily populated Yacht listing internet sites.

We have just started to look intot he US market for a 45-50' steel ketch with a shoal draft - pref swingning keel.

I'm suprised at how few there have been (well how few I have been able to find anyway).

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance,

Ren

The Nederlands and Australia are the best countries to look at when searching for a steel boat.

Where are you located? Is there a specific place where you would like to buy the boat and where do you intend taking it?

The designers that come to mind are :-

Joe Adams

Bruce Roberts-Goodson

Van de Stadt

Ganley

Tom Colvin

Ted Brewer

Dudley Dix

I know of a couple of excellent Steel boats that may shortly come up for sail.

Richard

P.S. Try Yachtworld USA or Yachtworld Australia - they will have a good coverage.

Barens - A South African (Dutch ex-pat) designer/builder. Search for "Barens Seatrader".
