Windows/portlights and such.
There are a few minor items left on the list, most of which can be addressed while at anchor.
The curtains are buggered! I am considering making new ones, but I am also considering an alternative. On the last boat, I made blackout inserts from the material which is used as reflectors in motor car windscreens. This thick, silver stuff can be easily made to press-fit, merely by sewing thin piping around the edges after cutting the material to size.
I am also considering using a dark window tint film to reduce the damage to interior timber frames, from UV rays.
I am not a fan of curtains. They get daggy fairly quickly and, due to the placement of the ports, curtains cannot be pulled completely aside from the glass on le bateau! Therefore, the amount of illumination is compromised.
So, what to do... Curtains, tint, blackout or a combination of these.
It's not critical, but as with so many things on a yacht, it's the liddle things which make so much difference to one's comfort while one is contemplating the sorts of thing which sailors routinely contemplate.
Any thoughts?
