Hi all
We went to London this weekend and visited Greenwich to see what the fire damage was like.
The ship was all hoarded up so I could only push the camera through a small hole and take the piccies
It certainly is in a sorry state.
It makes you wonder how much its gonna cost. Then when its finished it will be a nearly new Cutty Sark with not many original bits in the hull.
It seems a shame that this has happened to this lovely ship.
Luckily the masts and various ancilleries were in Chatham being restored
Would we be better giving her a decent funeral and building a replica which actually works and can be used as a training ship?
Could we build a ship like her?
Have we the skills needed in this country? "I dont think so "
I sorry the pictures aren't very good but it'll give you some idea. (Whist looking at them try and imagine that your standing next to an old bonfire the smell of burnt wood was quite strong )
