Hello Marcus; Spend money on a good first aid kit. Eat well and run the risk of something bad happening. Spend the 'insurance money' enjoying your cruising and new lifestyle.

Regards

Bedouin

I'm with Bedouin. Take the gamble and avoid medical insurance unless you have a pre-existing condition which is expected to interrupt your adventure. Instead spend some money on a good basic first aid course, then take instruction in administering medicine by syringe, visit a doctor and buy whatever medicines and surgical supplies he recommends for your intended voyage, ensure you have the means to communicate long distance with medical professionals...then bugger off toward the horizon with a smile on your face and an arm around your best mate. Best wishes. David

Hi Marcus

You will find it almost impossible to obtain medical insurance for open water sailing, majority of companies have an exclusion on open water sailing, diving and flying your own plane.
