Hello all,
We are Leon and Caroline a (now!) married couple adrift from our beloved Wind Roamer. She is a 33ft Neptunian class ketch and is pining away on the hard in Italy whilst we are marooned in Melbourne.
We made a hasty decision to fly here after receiving unsettling emails from our daughter who had just begun University here. The journey was worthwhile and all is quiet on the South-Eastern Front and I have managed to find work that has at least covered our costs while we have been here.
We have enjoyed our time here and being close to our families has been wonderful BUT we desperately want to return aboard our adored Wind Roamer II and the cruising life that we so love.
Ideally we will be there in European Spring 2011 for a summer in the Med before heading towards Suez and the Red Sea.
Ideally we will find our way back to Italy in some more interesting fashion than the flying aluminium tube! We are still looking.
I though I had retired but I must admit I have thoroughly enjoyed working as a freelance engineer on satellite phone products and a BIG thank you to Beam Communications for keeping me challenged and productive these last 9 months. They have designed some very nice equipment even if I say so myself and my favourites are of course the Marine versions (hint hint ;-)
Joining cruiser log somehow brings the day of our return to the cruising life that little bit closer.
