Alpha 4404 Autopilot

I am in the process of purchasing a 35' cruising cutter with an Alpha 4404 autopilot system installed.

Apparently Alpha doesn't produce this model anymore, and I have never heard of it, so I am wondering at it's ability (and reliability). There are extra flux-gate compasses and big-black-boxes for it (maybe 3 of each), but I have no idea if any of them work.

Give them a call. You might be surprised by how they'll continue to support the autopilot.
