Hello - learning to sail

I'm new to these forums but am looking to get aboard a vessel and do some crew work. I just graduated from university with a physics degree and am interested in learning any and everything about sailing and crewing ships, big and small. I have done some lake sailing and small watercraft type stuff, so am fairly new to this whole thing. I'd love to gain more experience and help people out along the way though! I love cooking, reading, and enjoy physical activity of all sorts. Currently I'm in Minneapolis, MN but am looking to get to a large body of water to start sailing.

I'm a quick learner and looking for new things! Does anyone need beginner's help aboard their craft? I'll be available anytime after September 10th.
