Thumbs up Panama to South Pacific!

I am Chael, 26, male, from Chicago. I am CURRENTLY in Panama City, hanging around making friends with all the cruisers at Balboa and Playita. I'll be here until the far end of the Puddle Jump season if it calls for it, because of all my freedoms, time is the greatest.

I am a traveler, and have been traveling for 3 years overland and sea from Oregon through all of South America. I make my experiences and the things I learn into literary non fiction on velabas.com, my website. I also draw, and create other art, which I post there as well. In my travels I hitchhike, and often walk.

Now that I'm entering the world of sailing I realize my limitations. However, I have three short passages to speak of, the most recent on a 37' Rival from Cartagena to Bocas del Toro Panama, a 5 day voyage in 10 foot swells that taught me a great deal about the joys of sailing.

As crew, I can offer only my aptitude, motivation, adventurous spirit, conversation, watches, cleaning and extra watches. I realize that the going rate for crew is usually above 10 dollars a day, but I am that other option if the contributing crew does not work out. In my travels I work for food and shelter, and the limited funds I have are for visas, entry fees, bonds, and miscellaneous expenditures. Otherwise I do spend around 100-150 dollars per month on food when work is untenable.

If you are reading this and thinking that, were your first course of action in finding crew not yielding the crew, that you would consider me, then contact me at chael777 at gmail.com. I have an endless thirst for knowledge, and above all I hope to find a compatible fit, of which I have no worries. Know that I am competent and non indulgent, non confrontational, and that I am patient.

Take care,

Chael
