USA -> Europe
Hi!
My name's Max. This summer I'm planning on going to France for three months to visit family and friends, and then to explore the country by bike & train - and if I could find a way to get there by boat that would be a dream come true! Unfortunately my romantic notions of swabbing the decks on a cargo ship for a cheap ride were quickly squashed after some scant research, but they're back better/faster/ and stronger than ever after finding out about transatlantic yachting!
ME: I'm a 21 year old dude, 50% French (I can read and speak the language almost fluently, but my spelling is horrendous), I'm studying Geology in University (but I don't know what I want to do with it quite yet) and I love anything related to water.
I don't have much sailing experience but I'm looking to learn! What I do have is lots of time on fresh water, a week out at sea, and small two person sail boat experience. I'm also a certified lifeguard and diver. Oh and I LOVE to cook (french side I guess) so I'd be happy to help out in the kitchen at all times (I don't even mind doing dishes! - truly I think I'd be so happy out on the water that nothing could bother me).
Paperwork - I have a French passport so you can drop me off anywhere in the EU. I don't have a B1/B2 U.S. visa, working on it, or if you want to leave earlier I've seen that I could join y'all in Bermuda without any problems.
PM me and lets talk over the phone or by email!
Thanks!
Max
Oh yeah, I can leave anytime in May (although mid-May would be preferable). And I'm based in Texas, but I can meet up anywhere in the US or in Bermuda.
EDIT: I made a list of some of my hobbies and interests: cooking, basketball, any water sport (especially kayaking & scuba diving!), history, biking, hiking, meeting people, nightlife, art, exploring, eating, socializing, camping, language, volunteering, gardening, driving, music (I'm a drummer, I'm obsessed with 90's hip-hop (Sugar Hill Gang - Rapper's Delight) but I enjoy most types of music), working odd jobs, comedy, culture, geology (studying this in school), entrepreneurship, science, nutrition, rock climbing, traveling... lots of stuff.
