Would you please give an estimation of the costs for food and drink? Also, who is responsible for the cost of the crew joining the vessel and their repatriation at the end of the voyage?

How much do you drink/eat ? Provisioning is quite cheap in S-A. I guess 10 euros a day should be enough. Crew is responsible for his own costs.

All the best

Philippe

Basic knowledge is enough. Positive attitude and good spirit more important. Leg from Richard's Bay to Cape Town could be rough.

Dane - M51 - with a couple of months in the beginning of 2009 to spare between jobs is looking for sailboat for blue water passage and cruising. If you still have a berth available for the SA-Brazil leg - I would consider joining you.

You will get an easy going person with 30 years sailboat experience as owner and crew of smaller craft in Denmark, and as first mate of a 65 foot ketch for 6 months going from Denmark to the Med years back. I am Yachtskipper II + radio, engine and Diving certified (also a bit dusty knowledge) and is known to remain cool in "sharp" situations. I know from experience, that I can live and work in cramped quarters and be happy and positive about it too. I am a reasonably good cook and I have no abuse problems, but I do enjoy a beer or a glass of wine if the situation and boat rules allow for it.

Cheers,

Erling Markussen
