S/Y Charisma
Charisma is a Vagabond 47 built in 1990 by Blue Water Yachts in Taiwan and was designed by William Gardner.I purchased her in 2005 and thus became the third owner. The boat was little used previously; laying in a marina for many years in the tropic didn't do any good to the beautiful woodwork and all things mechanical. It took a couple of refit to get her back in shape and she still required a good 3 months a year of dedicated maintenance. It is paying off as she sails beautifully and safely and yet is very comfortable to live on all year round.
Charisma as a new main and stay sail, the rest of the wardrobe is in pretty good shape. She is powered by a 100 HP Volvo Penta fitted with a fridge/freezer compressor, I love that one.Beside the solar panels, A 7 KVA Onan generator power up water maker, 2nd fridge/freezer compressor, A/C, battery charger and a host of 220 appliances such as oven (can't resist a good roast or lasagna). She has got all the nav system that are useful, radar, GPS, VHF, SSB.With 1200 liters of diesel in tanks she can cover 1500 NM if need be.The dive compressor is a stand alone Bauer Junior.Shae carry a vast amount of tools and spare parts as ship chandlers are few and far in between in this part of the world. This is an owner down below arrangement so only 2 cabins + a single berth and salon couch. The teak deck is in excellent conditions.Water capacity is 600 liters. 2 heads with shower. |
